Help! We are being held Captive!

Moose and I are being held captive! Everyday we watch Fang get to go outside and explore that amazing space outside of our windows. Why can't we go out too? So for the last few days we have been plotting for an opportunity to escape. Everyday we sit on the window sill and watch the world go by. Green stuff big and small, real trees instead of the crappy carpet thing in the kitchen. Bugs and other critters that we can chase and catch. Doesn't mom know what good hunters we are? So we are putting our heads together and will excute the Great Escape soon.

Escape Plan No. 1: Waiting for an open door. This one almost worked this past Wednesday. Mom's friend came over and didn't execute jump in and slam the door shut quickly. I got as far as the garbage cans before mom caught me.

Escape Plan No 2: See plan No. 1. We're babies and don't know everything yet. I have to figure out this Google stuff to do more research.

I can't wait to go outside and poop in real dirt. Maybe if we stink up the house bad enough, mom will give in and let us go outside.

The New Cat Tree

Imagine my surprise on Saturday morning, when the front door opened and this really cool cat tree appeared! Wow, something Moose and I can really enjoy. It didn't take us long to climb to the top and get another perspective of our world here in Sacramento. I especially like to play "top cat". I've only fallen off a couple of times, and once Moose shoved me off. We've tried to wrestle on it, but that doesn't work so well. Good thing I'm a cat, otherwise I would have gotten hurt. I'm still working on landing on my feet technique, but with practice I should figure it out sooner or later.
Mom kept trying to take a picture, but I move so fast it was hard to stay in focus. I am, after all, Rocket J. Squirrel fast.
I am still bugging mom on the computer. I don't know why she gets so bent out of shape when I walk across the keyboard. What's with that? Sooner or later she will just have to get over it. Otherwise, how will I write my blog?
Take care, your friend, Rocky.

I'm in BIG Trouble

Just a quick update. Mom is really mad at me and says I have to stay out of the office. Gee, I don't know why she is so upset. I only attacked the printer, pulled the z key cap off the laptop, and then disconnected the keyboard. She is just too sensitive. So I snuck in here while she was doing something else to use the computer. Oops, got to go, she spotted me! I will write more later.

Outside Adventure

Every since we have lived with mom, Moose and I have been intrigued with looking out the window. Fang goes out everyday and comes back in smelling of really neat stuff, but I'm not sure what all those scents are (other than his butt of course). I try to get a closer look, but mom is too fast closing the door, darn. So the other day, mom pulls out this bundle of red stuff and starts to put it on me. Part of it went around my head and the other around my chest. There was a long string attached that I wanted to play with, but she wouldn't let me. Holding me close, mom GOES OUTSIDE WITH ME! Oh, it was glorious, the smells, the green stuff, the noise was just amazing. I didn't even mind the harness and rope that kept me from going too far or too fast. I learned about grass, leaves and there were these really tall sticks with green stuff growing out of their heads. I think mom said they were trees. I tiptoed through the grass (it tickles my paws), sniffed everything I could find, and explored the back yard. When I got back inside, Moose smelled me all over and was jealous because he didn't get to go too. Mom says next time it will be Moose's turn. Until then we will continue to watch through the windows.

Meet Rocky & Moose

Hi, I'm Rocky, a 5 month old Maine Coon Mix tabby cat who was rescued from the Sacramento California Animal Control facility a couple of weeks ago, along with my brother Moose.

We look a lot alike, except that Moose has a big M on his forehead and he is bigger than I am (but not as fast or as curious). That's him behind me in the photo.

Sacramento Animal Control people were very nice to us and made sure that we were healthy and ready for adoption. I wasn't too keen on all those shots they gave us, but like any little kids, they were necessary. The worst part was getting my wee wee whacked. Ouch, that REALLY hurt. Neuter was what they called it. I'd like to neuter the guys that did it. Oh, well, what's done is done.

The first few days in our new home were lots of fun. We got to meet Fang our 12 year old roommate. Fang is pretty dull but an okay guy. He sure can stink up the litter box though; he really poops big! Thankfully he goes outside most of the time. He growled at us a few times, but didn't bite or scratch us. Fang told us he didn't have a home and was living under the back deck until Mom said it was okay to move in. He told me that his two older sisters passed away this year and it was very sad. He is glad that we are here. We make mom laugh a lot.

We met our other brother, Jeff. He is really big and looks like mom. He brought us this toy to play with: the red-dot creature (mom says it's a laser toy) I just think it is wicked cool. Yesterday, I spotted red dot on the hallway wall and I jumped almost up to the picture thingy’s, almost 4 feet high! But I still couldn’t catch it. Then it ran back and forth in the hall, up the walls, and in circles. I ran as fast as I could and made fast turns, but that darn thing is just too fast for me. Moose gets pushy sometimes, and trips me while I’m in chase mode then tries to catch it himself. He runs around in circles until he gets dizzy. He’s pretty fast, but not as fast as I am. I can’t figure out why mom is laughing so hard. When she laughs, the red-dot creature jumps around even more. One of these days I will catch it. I bet it will taste like cinnamon candy (whatever that is).

I will write more about our adventures soon......
